13th District
representatives to host
telephone town hall Thursday
Reps. Bill
Hinkle and
Judy Warnick
will host a town hall over the phone for their constituents Thursday,
March 19 at 7 p.m. The legislators hosted a teleforum last year and said
they had great involvement and feedback from using the "teleforum"
technology.
Since
session began Jan. 12, more than 400 bills have passed out of the House
of Representatives. The 13th District representatives have been working
on several measures that have direct impact on local issues.
"We have a very involved district," said Hinkle, R-Cle Elum. "This
teleforum technology allows us to touch base with our constituents and
listen to their concerns and their input into the problems and the
issues we're facing in the Legislature. We get to hear from folks
that would otherwise be unable to travel to Olympia to express their
ideas."
The hour-long call will focus on legislative updates and live questions
from callers.
"There has been a lot happening here in Olympia," said Warnick, R-Moses
Lake. "It's important for us to connect with everyone at home, listen to
their concerns and answer their questions. This forum has worked
wonderfully for us in the past and we're hoping constituents will again
be engaged to discuss state issues with their community."
To participate, callers should call toll-free 1-877-229-8493 and then
enter pin number 13617.
