Rep. Judy Warnick,
R-Moses Lake, was honored Wednesday evening by the Cattle Producers of
Washington during the organization's annual legislative awards dinner.
The group expressed their appreciation for Warnick's "interest,
involvement and efforts to help the Washington State livestock industry
in 2008." Warnick was told the group is "very
pleased about your involvement and efforts this past fall on critical
water issues impacting livestock producers in Eastern Washington."
Warnick was appreciative for the award and said she was happy to work on
water issues for cattle producers and every other industry in Washington
who depend on sufficient water sources.
"I am happy to help our cattle producers and other agricultural
industries in our state by fighting for water resources," Warnick said.
"I have heard a saying that 'water is needed under, in and over the
cow.' While I am in Olympia, I will try to remind others of these needs
to help cattle producers be successful."
Warnick said proposed stock watering limitations are a serious concern to
her.
"I
have been following the legislation closely," Warnick said. "I am very
committed to improving water use and access for agriculture, and have
proposed several bills to address these needs."
