Walsh receives 'Quality of
Life Award'
Rep. Maureen Walsh,
R-Walla Walla, received the “Quality of Life Award” from the Walla Walla
Association of Realtors at an awards dinner on January 28. The annual
award is given to an individual, group, elected or appointed official
who has made extraordinary commitments to improving the quality of life
in Walla Walla.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by the Walla Walla Association of
Realtors. Their members do so many wonderful things for the community,”
said Walsh. “I’m fortunate in that my position as state representative
allows me to be part of the decisions that impact communities and
families in positive ways. This award is a reflection of the reality
that decisions made in Olympia truly have an impact at home.”
Quality of Life Award principles include: ensuring economic vitality,
providing housing opportunities, preserving the environment, protecting
property owners, and building better communities.
Walsh is ranking Republican on the House Children and Family Services
Committee – a rare ascension for a state representative in his or her
first two-year term.
