Smith to host community call and in-district
forums this month
Tele-forum will take place June 11, in-person
event information will be available
this week
Rep. Norma Smith, for the
second time this year, will take
advantage of new technology to bring 10th District citizens together for
a community call. The call will take place Wednesday, June 11, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Residents can participate in the call via a
toll-free number: 1-866-447-5149, enter PIN 13450.
Community calls work much
like a call-in radio show. The interactive telephone system allows
residents to listen live and ask questions.
Residents have complete control over how they choose to participate and
how long they stay connected.
"I am looking forward to
catching up with constituents as well as hearing their concerns and
ideas on how to make our district and the state a better place," said
Smith, R-Clinton. "Since many new laws will take effect in July, this is
a good time to chat with folks and fill them in on what changes they can
expect. I also want feedback on issues impacting our district so I can
start working on legislation for the 2009 session."
In addition, Smith will
host several informal gatherings at local businesses around the district
this month. A detailed list with times and locations will be posted on her Web site this week at
www.houserepublicans.wa.gov/Smith.
No RSVP is necessary for
either the call or in-district meetings. Constituents who have
immediate needs that require staff work are encouraged to contact
Smith's district office at (360) 678-3604.
