Rep. Schmick comments on Hailey resignation
Rep. Joe Schmick,
R-Colfax, issued the following statement today in response to Rep. Steve
Hailey's, R-Mesa, resignation from the Washington State House of
Representatives for medical reasons:
"I was sad to hear that Rep. Hailey was resigning his House seat.
Steve has represented the 9th District with vigor, honor and character.
It has been a pleasure serving in Olympia with him this past year.
"I know that Steve wants nothing but the best representation possible
for the 9th District, and, in the end, he felt he wouldn't be able to
give the job the attention and energy needed. That's a difficult
decision to make. He leaves office with same class and dignity in
which he served. I would ask that people keep Steve and his family
in their thoughts and prayers."
