Rodne appointed assistant
ranking Republican
on House Health Care Committee
Rep. Jay Rodne,
R-Snoqualmie, was recently appointed as assistant ranking Republican on
the House Health Care Committee. He will also sit on the House
Transportation and Trade and Economic Development committees.
“I’m excited about my
recent appointments and look forward to what they mean to the people of
the 5th District,” said Rodne. “I believe it’s important that people
have access to affordable health care and there are things the
Legislature can do to help with this.”
The House Health Care
Committee considers issues relating to licensing health facilities,
credentialing health providers, regulating pharmacies, trauma care
centers, and public health departments, and providing health coverage
for low-income persons through Medicaid and the basic health plan.
Rodne said he looks
forward to addressing transportation problems in his district and moving
Washington’s economy forward.
“I’m very concerned about
reducing traffic congestion in the communities I represent. Securing
funding for district projects that address this goal is a top priority,”
said Rodne. “There’s also a lot the Legislature should do this year to
bring jobs and prosperity to our families.”
Rodne was sworn in as
state representative for the 5th District on Jan. 20. He succeeds Cheryl
Pflug, who was appointed to Dino Rossi’s seat in the state Senate after
Rossi stepped down to run for governor.
Rodne can be reached in
Olympia at 360-786-7852 or by e-mail at
