Auburn teen

PHOTO
RELEASE
Elliot S. Fletcher, an
eighth-grade student at Buena Vista Seventh-Day Adventist School in
Auburn, recently served as a page in the Washington House of
Representatives. He was sponsored by
Rep. Dan Roach,
R-Bonney Lake.
Paging presents students
with a unique educational opportunity to participate in the legislative
process. Their duties vary from ceremonial tasks, such as presenting the
flags, to operational chores like distributing amendments during
legislative sessions.
During his week in
Olympia, Elliot also attended page school where he learned about the
legislative process, including how a bill becomes a law.
Last June, he received
Auburn's Citizenship Award for 2007-08.
Elliot is the 14-year-old
son of Kevin and Amy Fletcher, Auburn.
