Jason Sattgast
serves as House page for Rep. Roach
Shelton
teen is serving second year as page in Washington Legislature
Jason Sattgast, a freshman
at Shelton's Oakland Bay Junior High School, served as a page this week
in the Washington House of Representatives. He was sponsored by
Rep. Dan Roach, R-Bonney Lake.
As a page, Jason helped to
deliver bills, floor calendars and other documents to legislator's
offices. He also attended page school for two hours a day where he
participated in a mock legislative session and learned how to write a
bill.
Paging presents students
between the ages of 14 and 16 with a unique educational opportunity to
participate in the legislative process.
This is Jason's second
year of service as a page in the Legislature. Last year, he served as a
page for former Rep. Mary Skinner, R-Yakima.
Jason, 15, is the son of
John and Debra Sattgast of Shelton, Washington, and the grandson of Dan
and Shirley Herman, Payette, Idaho.
