Biography
EDUCATION:
Rep. Priest holds a B.A. in political science from Willamette
University and a J.D. with Honors from the National Law Center at
George Washington University.
PROFESSIONAL INFORMATION:
Rep. Priest currently runs his own land management and
business-consulting firm. He's also owned and operated manufacturing
and service companies. In prior corporate executive positions, he
specialized in real estate management and international finance.
PUBLIC SERVICE:
Serving his third term as representative from the 30th Legislative
District. Rep. Priest was also Mayor of Federal Way and Chair of the
City Council's Land Use/Transportation Committee.
LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES:
Ensure responsiveness, accountability and performance in state
government to better serve the constituents of the 30th Legislative
District. Place special focus on creating jobs and improving the
economy, providing necessary education funding, protecting the
environment, developing
meaningful transportation solutions, implementing a budget that
controls spending and ensures our taxpayers' dollars are spent
wisely, and protecting our time-honored judicial system.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:
Board Member: Pacific Harbors Council B.S.A. and honored with the
Silver Beaver Award for his volunteer commitment.
Board Member: Federal Way Kiwanis and recipient of the prestigious
Hixson Fellowship
Advisory Board Member: The Friends of the Hylebos, a leading
regional conservation group
Board Member: Federal Way Chamber’s Advancing Leadership Program
Board Member: South King County Multi-Service Center
Member: Federal Way School District Construction Oversight Committee
PERSONAL:
Rep. Priest lives in Federal Way with wife, Trisha Bennett, and
their two children Zachary and Amanda. |
