Vancouver teen
helps Orcutt in House
Page photo release
Amanda Miller, a sophomore
at Skyview High School, Vancouver, recently served as a page in the
Washington House of Representatives. She was sponsored by
Rep. Ed Orcutt,
R-Kalama.
As a page, Amanda was
responsible for delivering documents to lawmakers in their offices,
committee meetings, and on the House floor. She also learned about the
legislative process through the Legislature's page school.
To become a page,
applicants must have a legislative sponsor and be between the ages of 14
and 16. Additionally, pages are required to hold a grade-point average
of C+ or better, and obtain written permission from their parents and
school.
Amanda is the 16-year-old
daughter of Sandy and Mark Miller of Vancouver.
