RELEASE
Corie McDaniel, a
sophomore at Kalama Middle/High School, recently
served as a page in the Washington House of Representatives. She was
sponsored by Rep. Ed Orcutt, R-Kalama.
Corie's duties varied
from delivering documents to lawmakers and providing messages to them in
committee meetings and on the House floor. She also continued her
studies for two hours each day in the Legislative Page School.
To become a page,
applicants must have a legislative sponsor and be between the ages of 14
and 16. Additionally, pages are required to hold a grade-point average
of C+ or better, and obtain written permission from their parents and
school. Corie, 15, is the
daughter of David McDaniel, Longview, and Meggan McDaniel, Kelso. For more information about
