18th District residents
invited to 'District Day' Feb. 22 at Capitol
Sen. Joseph Zarelli, Rep.
Richard Curtis and
Rep. Ed Orcutt
are inviting residents of the 18th Legislative District to join them in
Olympia on Wednesday, Feb. 22 for “18th District Day.” This year’s
annual occasion goes from approximately 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and allows
district residents to meet with their local lawmakers and get better
acquainted with state government.

Capitol tour organizers can be told how many people to expect. People
planning to participate in the tour of the Governor’s Mansion must
provide first and last name 24 hours in advance for security purposes,
and should be prepared to show photo identification before entering the
mansion.
The District Day schedule is:
10:15-10:30 – Gather at
the State Seal in the Rotunda of the Legislative Building.
10:30-11:30 – Tour of the Legislative Building with a stop at the
Governor’s Office. Gov. Christine Gregoire is scheduled to meet with
guests for 10 minutes in her conference room.
11:30-11:40 – Tour of the Secretary of State’s Office. If his schedule
permits, Secretary of State Sam Reed will greet guests.
11:45-11:55 – Presentation on the Code Reviser's Office by Head Code
Reviser Kyle Theissen in the House Rules Room.
Noon-1 p.m. – Have lunch in House Hearing Room E of the John L. O’Brien
Building (next to the Legislative Building) with Sen. Zarelli, Rep.
Orcutt and Rep. Curtis. Bring a lunch; the 18th District lawmakers will
provide beverages.
1:10-1:45 – Tour of the Temple of Justice.
2:00 – First group of 25 depart to tour the Governor’s Mansion.
2:15 – Second group of 25 depart to tour the Governor’s Mansion.
Activities will conclude no later than 3 p.m.
