Welcome to my legislative web page. This
is where you can quickly find a variety of information on my priorities, press
releases, my biography and other items of interest. I encourage you to
return often because these pages are updated frequently with the latest
information.
Thank you for entrusting me to represent you in Olympia. It’s a
responsibility I take very seriously.
Serving as your state representative since
2005, I have spent time in Olympia and in our communities working
on a variety of issues that impact the 7th District. Through my
experience, I have learned that in order to get things done for you, it
takes a
combination of hard work, the ability to work across the aisle and, most
important, to
listen to your needs so my focus is in the right direction.
The 2010 Legislature will again face a large budget shortfall due to
overspending and the economic slump. Since 2005, legislative leaders
increased spending by 33 percent, or $8.7 billion, which was double the rate
of revenue growth. This year, I will continue to advocate for fiscal
restraint. I believe the state must adopt a budget based on current revenues
instead of one-time raids on the many state funds and the federal money.
We need to solve the budget problems, not continue to ignore them. We can support our
essential services, such as schools, roads and hospitals, while still
protecting taxpayers.
Making sure you have a voice in state government is important to me. I
want to hear your opinion on issues you care about. Please call, write
or send an email with your concerns, suggestions or questions anytime.
You will find my contact information at the top of this page.
