House Republicans elect
Hinkle to caucus leadership position
13th District lawmaker takes over whip duties
Rep.
Bill Hinkle was elected whip of the House Republican Caucus
by his legislative peers today. The 13th District lawmaker’s leadership
duties will include serving as sergeant at arms, maintaining decorum
during caucus meetings and ensuring caucus activities are carried out in
orderly fashion. He will also help with other caucus and leadership
activities.
“I’m excited about this position and honored my Republican colleagues
have entrusted me with a leadership role. I look forward to my new
duties, including constituent outreach for the caucus,” said
Hinkle, R-Cle Elum. “More than ever, Olympia needs news ideas
and balance. House Republicans are putting forth solutions for our
state’s problems that will protect jobs and taxpayers in these uncertain
economic times. A lot of work is ahead, but we are up to the challenge.”
Hinkle was recently re-elected to his fourth term and
serves as ranking Republican on the House Health Care and Wellness
Committee. He will return to Olympia when the Legislature reconvenes
January 12.
