Warnick and Hinkle to host community 'tele-forum'
Legislators will use new technology to connect
with constituents
Thirteenth District
Reps. Bill
Hinkle and
Judy Warnick
invite constituents to meet with them in a new way next week -- over the
phone in a live community conversation.
The tele-forum, which
allows callers to listen in and ask questions of the representatives
from the comfort of their own home, will take place Wednesday, June 25,
from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Citizens who wish to call in to the live
conversation should dial 1-866-447-5149 and then enter pin number 13617.
The discussion topics will
be set by callers who can ask Hinkle and Warnick about anything from the
state budget to transportation and education.
"I'm really looking
forward to using this new technology," said Warnick, R-Moses Lake. "It
will be interesting to see what folks want to talk about."
"This is another way
in which we're going to our constituents, rather than asking them to
come to us," said Hinkle, R- Cle Elum. "I hope a lot of people will take
advantage of this outreach tool and share what's on their mind."
After the hour-long call,
listeners will have a chance to record a voicemail with further
questions or comments for the legislators. Citizens may also contact
legislators at their district offices with additional questions or
concerns.
Hinkle's district office
is located at 2211 W. Dolarway Road, Suite 6, in
Ellensburg. His office number is (509) 933-1238.
Warnick is also available
through her district office at 326 S. Cedar Street (across from
McCosh Park) in Moses Lake. Her office number is (509) 766-6505.
Both legislators may also be contacted through the toll-free Legislative
Hotline in Olympia at 1-800-562-6000.
