Hinkle named ranking
Republican on House committee
Republicans in the state
House of Representatives have named
Rep.
Bill Hinkle, R-Cle Elum, their top member on the Children and
Family Services Committee. As Ranking Republican, Hinkle will act as
lead negotiator for House Republicans on issues that come before the
committee.
The House Children and Family Services Committee considers bills that
touch children and families, including those related to at-risk youth,
welfare, marriage and domestic violence.
“I am honored at the opportunity to positively – and very directly –
help the families and children of this state and particularly in the
13th District,” Hinkle said. “Families and our children are the backbone
of our society, and they sometimes need assistance. I’ll do all I can
through my position of leadership on the committee to help them succeed
and flourish here in Washington.”
Hinkle said his 17 years’ experience as a paramedic and firefighter, as
well as his leadership with the Greater Columbian Behavioral Health
Regional Support Network, has prepared him well to tackle these issues
in the Legislature.
“I am excited about the opportunity to influence family- and
children-related issues as they come before the Legislature,” said
Hinkle. “Whether it’s finding ways to help at-risk youth or reducing
domestic violence, I look forward to helping our state’s kids and
families thrive.”
