Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Health care reform at both the national and state level has been a hot topic of discussion this past year.  I know many of you have contacted my office to see where I stand on this issue and what solutions I would support to our health care crisis.

Please join me, my seatmates Rep. Brad Klippert and Sen. Jerome Delvin, along with Rep. Doug Ericksen, our ranking member on the health care committee, for a "Health Care Town Forum."  We'll be discussing the House Republican plan to reform health care in our state.  You won't want to miss this event.  Health care reform, on both the state and national level, is a huge issue impacting us all.  I encourage you to attend if you are able:

  Health Care Forum
Thursday, Sept. 17 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Richland School District's Administration Building
615 Snow Ave.
Richland

Another community coffee...
Please join me for another community coffee where we can discuss issues important to you or problems you're having with a state agency.  My district office doors are always open to you, but I know it's often easier to set a time on the weekend when you're not working to sit down over coffee to talk about state government and the issues that are impacting our lives:

  Community Coffee
Saturday, Oct. 10 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Apollo Hall
35 Apollo Boulevard
Richland

Delta High School holds open house...

Delta High School recently held a dedication and open house for the public before beginning the school year this fall.  Senator Delvin, Representative Klippert and I were pleased to be able to present the school with a Washington State flag for display.  We also worked with our colleagues this past session to see that Delta High received $800,000 in needed funds in the state capital budget.

Delta High School is a STEM school focusing on science, technology, engineering and math and will provide a hands-on learning experience in preparing the next generation of science and technology leaders.

Thanks for taking the time to stay involved and for reading my E-newsletter.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact my district office at (509) 372-7997.  I'm always available for coffee or for a quick meeting if you need help wading through state government.  I represent you and I'm here to serve.

Sincerely,

Larry Haler
State Representative, 8th District
