Rep. Haler recovering at home after spinal surgery

Rep. Larry Haler, R-Richland, is resting and recovering at home following cervical spine surgery earlier this week.

Haler, who was recently elected to a third term representing the 8th Legislative District, was injured in a fall in mid-August, but medical personnel only recently realized the need for surgery.

"I want to thank family and friends who have extended their well-wishes and prayers," Haler said.

As part of his post-op recovery, Haler will wear a soft cervical collar for the next three to four weeks. While he has curtailed his public appearances and speaking engagements, Haler is reading at home, doing paperwork and corresponding with constituents via e-mail. His district office at 719 Jadwin Ave., Suite 6, in Richland continues to be staffed by his Legislative Assistant, Jan Swenson.
