Haler to host teleconference 'town hall'
Community
call will take place June 18
Rep.
Larry Haler, R-Richland, will take advantage of new technology
to bring 8th District citizens together for a community call. The
call will take place Wednesday, June 18, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Residents can participate in the call via a toll-free number,
1-866-447-5149, and entering pin #13821.
Community calls work much
like a call-in radio show. The interactive telephone system allows
residents to listen live and ask questions. Residents have
complete control over how they choose to participate and how long they
stay connected.
"I'm excited to use this
technology to reach out to constituents in the Eighth District," Haler
said. "This is an opportunity for me to hear from people who
otherwise might not be able to make it to a traditional town hall
meeting. From the comfort and convenience of their own homes,
constituents will be able to participate in a wide range of topics and
offer input on how to make our district and our state a better place to
live, work and raise a family."
Residents will also be
able to participate in a few automated poll questions, with the results
announced and discussed during the teleconference.
No RSVP is necessary for
the teleconference town hall. Constituents who have immediate
needs that require staff work are encouraged to contact Haler's district
office at (509) 372-7997.
