Ericksen uses new
technology to communicate with residents
Attend a town hall
meeting from the comfort of your living room
Residents of the 42nd
Legislative District are invited to dial-in to a "tele-town hall" with
Rep. Doug Ericksen, R-Ferndale, on Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 7 to 8 p.m.
"I am excited to use this
new technology to listen to residents, answer their questions and
address issues of importance," explains Ericksen. "This is the first
time this has been done in the district, and I think it will be well
received because residents can participate from the comfort of their own
homes."
The tele-town hall, also
referred to as "Community Conversation with Rep. Doug Ericksen," is just
that -- an opportunity for the community to listen and talk with
Ericksen over the phone. The interactive telephone system allows
residents to listen live, ask questions and take part in poll questions.
Residents have complete control over how they choose to participate and
how long they want to stay connected.
"I think one of the
advantages of this system is residents can listen for five minutes,
20 minutes or the entire hour," adds Ericksen. "For some residents,
attending a town hall meeting can be difficult. They may not have
transportation, the traveling time might be too long or perhaps they
cannot find a babysitter. The tele-town hall helps address those
challenges."
Residents interested in
participating can dial
(866) 447-5149 and
enter pin 13284 between 7
and 7:20 p.m. to connect to the call.
If you would like more information on the tele-town hall, please contact
Rep. Ericksen
