Ericksen to address two
groups Oct. 10
Deputy
Republican Leader to speak to National Association of Insurance and
Financial Advisors – Northwest Washington and National Day celebration
for Taiwan, ROC
Rep. Doug Ericksen,
R-Ferndale, will speak to two groups Wednesday, October 10 – one in
Bellingham and another in Seattle.
Ericksen will speak to the National Association of Insurance and
Financial Advisors – Northwest Washington at noon at the Bellingham Golf
and Country Club.
Ericksen will also address the annual National Day celebration for
Taiwan, ROC, hosted by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, around
7:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Westin Hotel Grand Ballroom in
Seattle. He will speak of the needs to allow Taiwan, ROC into the World
Health Organization and to complete a free trade agreement with the
country.
In his efforts to increase foreign markets for Whatcom County, Ericksen
hosted Robert Chen, Director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office,
on a tour of the area’s export goods and tourism opportunities last
year.
“It is an honor to be able to celebrate the independence of the free,
democratic and capitalist nation of Taiwan, Republic of China” said
Ericksen. “We have no greater friends in the East than our allies in
Taiwan.”
Ericksen has served the 42nd Legislative District since 1999. He has
held numerous leadership positions in the Washington State House of
Representatives, currently serving in the number two Republican position
as Deputy Leader.
