Ericksen to meet with city
councils to brainstorm ideas
Deputy
Republican Leader wants to take ideas to Olympia in 2008
Rep. Doug Ericksen
will be meeting with several city councils Sept. 10 and 11 to gather
ideas that he can take to Olympia for the 2008 legislative session. The
meetings will be brainstorming sessions that include city councils and
their staff, and Ericksen and a few of his policy staff from the House
Republican Caucus. The public is also invited.
The 42nd Legislative District state lawmaker says the meetings will be
nonpartisan and has invited his seatmates Rep. Kelli Linville,
D-Bellingham, and Sen. Dale Brandland, R-Whatcom County, to participate.
The goal is to bring local governments together with state government
and have open discussions on what can be done in Olympia to help cities
and towns around the state. I will be bringing my policy staff from
Olympia and we plan to listen intently while answering any questions
that might arise, said Ericksen, R-Ferndale. This isnt about partisan
politics its about bringing people together to discuss problems and
solutions for local governments. I look forward to the process.
