DeBolt nominee named to Legislative Ethics Board

Retired Lewis County Superior Court Judge David Draper has been appointed to serve on the Washington State Legislative Ethics Board. Draper was nominated by Rep. Richard DeBolt, R-Chehalis, and appointed by Gov. Christine Gregoire. The board enforces state ethics laws as they pertain to members of the Legislature and legislative employees.

“Judge Draper’s experience on the bench will bring a thoughtful and deliberative approach to the ethics board,” said DeBolt, who is the House Republican Leader. “The board serves a critical role in maintaining public trust and confidence in our elected officials and the legislative process. Judge Draper’s track record of fairness and integrity will serve the board and the Legislature well.”

Draper’s term became effective February 10, 2006, and ends September 30, 2010.

Draper, who lives in Rochester, retired in January 2005 after 24 years as a superior court judge in Lewis County. He and his wife Viki have two sons.
