Dear school directors and board members,

I want to ask for your opinion on a bill moving through the Legislature. It is House Bill 1940 and it would require that health and insurance benefits for school district employees be provided through the Public Employees' Benefits Board, starting in September 2012. There's been a lot of support for the bill from legislators, and the bill is now waiting in the House Rules Committee to be put on the floor calendar for a vote. However, the Washington Education Association opposes the bill.
