Bailey receives Business Champion Award

Rep. Barbara Bailey, R-Oak Harbor, was recently honored by the Joint Snohomish County Chambers with its 2006 Business Champion Award.

The award was presented to Bailey during a breakfast meeting of the chambers group May 3 in Everett. The group is made up of representatives from the Everett Area, South Snohomish County and Monroe chambers of commerce.

Bailey was one of six legislators to receive the award, all of whom voted more than 70 percent of the time to support the chambers’ agenda.

"I am very honored to receive this award. The creation of jobs and support of small businesses remain among my top priorities in the Legislature. Small businesses are the lifeblood of our state’s economy, and as they expand, new jobs are created that provide a better quality of life for all in Washington," said Bailey.

Bailey was put at the top of the list of those recognized by the chambers. She was listed as voting at least 77 percent of the time with its business, jobs and economic development agenda.
