great resource and way to stay connected with Olympia.
I am so
grateful to represent the 10th District. Our unique people and vibrant
neighborhoods make us the envy of Washington state.
Our
communities and state are not without challenges though. We must find
ways to preserve and create jobs, resolve our local ferry problems,
contain health insurance costs, and determine the most effective way to
fund public education.
Solutions to these challenges must be
viewed through the lens of our state’s unprecedented budget problem.
Lawmakers are making difficult choices for state government.
As a member
of the House Ways and Means Committee, I am fighting for a responsible
budget that protects our most vulnerable, but does not raise fees or
taxes on Washingtonians. State government must define true needs and
live within its means.
The best part of my job is hearing from
people I represent. The best ideas always come from my communities – not
