It’s a great honor to serve the 16th
District in my second term as your representative. I spend a lot of time talking with constituents about the needs of our communities. Their
important feedback helps me refine my priorities as a state
representative, including:
- Creating and preserving jobs;
- Addressing agricultural and water
needs;
- Making health care more affordable
and accessible;
- Preparing students for our diverse
economy; and
- Holding government agencies
accountable.
In addition, I'll be working to protect
seniors and our most vulnerable citizens.
Among the most important issues facing legislators in odd-numbered years
is determining the state’s operating budget for the next year. As a
member of the House Appropriations Committee, I will have direct
involvement in this process. We need to always pass responsible state
budgets that keep our spending in check and use tax dollars efficiently.
Much like families must do during tough economic times, state government
should live within its means.
