Two students page for Rep. Jim McCune in the state House

Rep. Jim McCune, R-Graham, hosted two students as legislative pages in the Washington State House of Representatives. Rachel Kinkella and Jessica Gamble served April 13-17.

The students' responsibilities included delivering messages and documents to legislators and legislative assistants, committee meetings and House chambers. They also spent time in the legislative page school learning about state government.

Rachel is the daughter of Mark and Diane Kinkella of Puyallup. She is a home-school student, and enjoys training Arabian horses, playing piano, and history and math.

Jessica is the daughter of Steve and Linda Gamble of Carbonado. She is in 8th grade at Carbonado Middle School, and enjoys fast-pitch softball, hunting, reading, playing the guitar, and history and math.

Young men and women have come to Olympia since 1891 to serve as pages for the Washington State Legislature. Pages must obtain permission from their parents and schools, and most live with volunteer host families while in Olympia. State representatives may only sponsor a limited number of pages each session.

McCune can be contacted at (360) 786-7824 or mccune.jim@leg.wa.gov
