Herrera elected assistant
floor leader for House Republicans
18th District lawmaker also selected for three
House committees
Rep. Jaime Herrera,
R-Ridgefield, was elected today by her Republican colleagues to serve
as House Republican assistant floor leader.
"I'm excited to
join the House
Republican leadership team," said Herrera. "This
is an opportunity to highlight the thoughts, needs and concerns of
Southwest Washington in the state capital. I look forward to working
with Republicans and Democrats to solve the challenges that face our
families, businesses and communities."
Herrera will work with House Republican
Floor Leader Dan Newhouse, R-Sunnyside, to manage
legislation and debate on the House floor. She will also participate in House
Republican leadership meetings.
