State Rep. Doug Ericksen, R-Ferndale, will be part of the transportation panel discussion at the 2007 Statewide Small Business Conference. The conference is Thursday, Nov. 8, at the SeaTac Hilton from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and is presented by the Washington Policy Center. The transportation panel runs from 10:45 a.m. to noon. "Small business is one of the pistons that keeps our economic engine running," says Ericksen. "Transportation and the ability to move goods quickly and cost effectively are essential to ensuring our small businesses are successful." During the panel discussion, Ericksen will outline "innovative, free-market solutions for transportation problems that the people of Washington deserve." The forum also allows small business owners to provide input on state laws and regulations to help improve the state's small business climate. Ericksen is a member of the House Transportation Committee and serves as deputy leader of the House Republican Caucus.
