Rep. Mike Armstrong is recuperating in an Olympia hospital this afternoon after doctors performed an angioplasty to remove a blockage in one of the blood vessels to his heart. An aide to the Wenatchee lawmaker said the surgery was a complete success and Armstrong is resting comfortably and doing very well. Doctors decided to perform the non-invasive surgery after they confirmed Armstrong suffered a mild heart attack Wednesday evening just outside the governor’s mansion. It's expected Armstrong will be released from Providence St. Peter Hospital tomorrow (Friday). Doctors have recommended that he rests for about a week before returning to his duties. The 105-day legislative session is scheduled to adjourn Sunday, April 26. # # #
