PERSONAL:
Jim and his wife, Joan, have been married 42 years and have lived in Clark County since 1977. They have two grown children and five beautiful grandchildren.

A Vietnam era veteran, Jim served three enlistments in the U.S. Air Force and Reserves. He is also a descendent of pioneer families from the Washington and Alaska territories.

EDUCATION:
Louisiana State University

STATE GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE:
State representative for 17th District from 1996 through 2002; elected state representative for that district again in 2004 and 2006.

Creating and preserving family-wage jobs
Holding government accountable and limiting taxes
Ensuring public education is preparing students for the future
Increasing availability of affordable housing
Protecting seniors and vulnerable citizens
