Lakewood High School student serves as page
for Rep. Barbara Bailey

Jordan Wessell spends a week in the Washington State House of Representatives

Jordan Wessell served as a page in the Washington State House of Representatives, March 29 to April 3. She was sponsored by Rep. Barbara Bailey, R-Oak Harbor.

Jordan, 16, is the daughter of Lisa Blowers of Arlington and granddaughter of Paul Blowers. She is a sophomore at Lakewood High School.

Jordan's responsibilities included delivering messages and documents to legislators and legislative assistants, committee meetings and House chambers. She also spent time in the legislative page school learning about state government.

Young men and women have come to Olympia to serve as pages for the Washington State Legislature since 1891. Pages must obtain permission from their parents and schools, and many stay with volunteer host families in Thurston County.

Rep. Bailey can be contacted at (360) 786-7914 or bailey.barbara@leg.wa.gov.
